CarRecallRecord is a free, independent resource that helps drivers, used car buyers and mechanics find safety recalls, owner complaints and crash test ratings for their vehicles.
Where our data comes from
All recall, complaint and safety rating information comes from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), through its public APIs. VIN decoding uses NHTSA’s vPIC service. We refresh the data every week. The last update was November 1, 2026.
We currently cover 1,025 recall campaigns and 54,354 owner complaints across 1,400 vehicles from 48 manufacturers.
What we add
- One page per make, model and year, with cab and trim variants grouped together.
- Complaint patterns summarized by component, so you can see common problems at a glance.
- “Do not drive” and “park outside” warnings highlighted.
