Always confirm recalls for your specific vehicle using its VIN on NHTSA.gov or with your manufacturer.
Source of data
Recall, complaint and crash test data on CarRecallRecord comes from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). We are not affiliated with or endorsed by NHTSA, the U.S. Department of Transportation or any vehicle manufacturer. All trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify vehicles.
Recalls on this site cover a model year, not your exact car
A recall listed for a model year may apply only to vehicles built in certain plants or date ranges. Only a VIN lookup with the manufacturer or NHTSA can confirm whether your vehicle is affected and whether the repair has already been done.
Owner complaints are unverified
Complaints are submitted by the public and published by NHTSA without verification. They don’t prove a defect exists.
Model grouping
NHTSA lists some vehicles under several names (for example by cab style or powertrain). We group these under one model page, so counts may combine several variants.
Timeliness
We update weekly, so a newly announced recall may take several days to appear.
