Unlike a gentle reminder as on most other vehicles, this vehicle applies on brake to force the vehicle in the opposite direction. This correction is violent. A new driver to this vehicle can try to compensate for this abrupt movement of the vehicle, overcompensating to a dangerous degree. The manufacturer is aware of this issue, along with numerous other safety systems issues. Incident Summary: I am reporting a recurring and dangerous failure of the vehicle’s lane-keeping/automated steering system. The vehicle provides unprompted, forceful steering inputs that fight the driver’s control, creating an immediate risk of high-speed collisions. Incident 1 (I-5 North): Traveling at 70 mph in the right-hand lane. Every few minutes, the vehicle initiated an unprompted steer to the left. I had to physically fight the steering wheel to maintain center and avoid a crash. The behavior only ceased when I moved to the left-hand lane.
