My 2026 BMW i7 eDrive50 developed significant steering-wheel surface deterioration within approximately three months of ownership and 6,000 miles of driving. The steering-wheel material is deteriorating, becoming sticky, and transferring a glue-like residue onto my fingers during normal driving. This is not simply a cosmetic concern. The sticky surface creates a potential safety hazard because it can interfere with the driver's ability to maintain a consistent grip, release and reposition the hands smoothly, and react quickly during emergency steering maneuvers. I purchased a new 26 BMW I7 with the Rear Theater and Executive seating options, for my [XXX] & [XXX] daughter's to enjoy. The screen broke day one, and has spent 10 days in the shop the first 44 days of my ownership. Beyond my reliability, and technical issuws the car has a major safety flaw/concern i asked BMW to address. With the rear screen down and blinds up i have zero rear view mirror visibility. BMW did not include the necessary rear view mirroor camera to allow for visibility out of the rear view windo. Watch this video Below: [XXX] .
