UNACCEPTABLE SAFETY HAZARD: General Motors & Cadillac Need to Take Responsibility I am writing this to urge Cadillac and General Motors to address a critical safety issue before someone gets seriously hurt or dies. While driving my 2020 Cadillac XT6 over an overpass in XXX, the vehicle suffered a complete electrical breakdown. Every dash light flared up, and I instantly lost total control—NO steering assist, NO acceleration. Being stranded in a moving vehicle without control on an elevated roadway was terrifying. This car has under 50,000 miles. It is currently on its 6th service visit at Stevens Creek Cadillac and has been sitting in their shop for 3 full weeks with zero answers or progress

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with burned transmission fluid and excessive metal shavings inside the fluid. The dealer determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was scheduled to be repaired. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V668000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone and offered to cover 50 percent of the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was 16,000.

June 23, 2026Fuel/Propulsion System

Vehicle stalled while driving on a busy road creating a very dangerous situation. Could not put it in neutral to push it out of the road; it was partially in the road for over an hour. Had to have it towed to replace the fuel pump and fuel pump control unit. Found two recalls after the incident and was told by Cadillac that my VIN was excluded. 1. Fuel Pump Assembly Recall (N202314760 / NHTSA Campaign 20V639) Fuel Pump Power Control Module Recall (N252516900) Out of pocket expense was $1173.97

at 60,740 miles, "Steering Assist is Reduced Drive with Care" message appeared. Under warranty, but dealership booked for 2 months. Error went away. After powertrain warranty expires (70,000 miles), message constantly appears, and coolant thermostat display is BLANK. Results in excess fan usage (lowering fuel consumption), reduced steering assist, aggravation, check engine light. This issue has developed while under warranty, for a practically new car. Unacceptable. An extended warranty should be in effect for model 2020 as well.
