The contact stated that there was condensation building up inside the headlight assembly, causing the headlight illumination to be reduced, and the turn light brightness was dull. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was determined that there was a crack in the headlight housing. The dealer claimed that the crack was caused by a crash. While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle executed unexpected, unprompted automatic emergency braking (phantom braking) X2 with no forward threats present, creating an immediate highway collision hazard. Prior to this, the forward-facing cabin multifunction camera assembly near the rearview mirror experienced an electrical short and thermal runaway event, reaching a recorded surface temperature of 363°F and causing occupant blister burns to fingers.
