Rear door handles stick in the open position intermittently. Seems to happen more when weather is wet. Dealer fixed this problem once after a TSB was issued, but it is happening again. Dealer has not been able to replicate in person again and originally would not open case based on video of it happening. Upon contacting the manufacturer, the dealer was instructed to open a tech line case. If the door outer door handle stays in the open position when the door is closed it prevents the inner door handle from opening the door which caused my daughter to be stuck in the car until someone could let her out.
When driving the vehicle both at highway speed and city speed (but more noticeable at highway speed) after turning the wheel to turn the car, when trying to return to straight the steering wheel "sticks" and I have to force it to return to center. This problem has been going on for several months so I took it to the Mazda dealership where I purchased the car, and they confirmed the problem. The dealer said it was not under a further recall (they had previously applied lubricant to the steering mechanism) and at this time not covered by warranty (I have exceeded the 36,000 mile warranty). Our 2024 Mazda CX 90 is experiencing the well known “sticky steering wheel” problem that reveals itself as a post-recall fix failure.
My 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV received the steering gear remedy for Recall 24V022 (Mazda 6524A), at about 10,000 miles. Around three weeks ago, the same condition the recall was meant to fix came back. While driving, the steering suddenly and without warning becomes heavy and hard to turn, requiring much more effort to steer. This now occurs basically any time the vehicle is moving, including almost the entire drive to the dealership this morning. It is most impactful when on a curve or turn especially on the highway, as the wheel will stick and not allow slight movements forcing me to jerk the wheel a bit to get the proper angle to turn.
