The contact owns a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 4MATIC. The contact stated that while attempting to park the vehicle inside garage, the vehicle independently accelerated. The brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The vehicle drove through the garage and crashed into the washer and dryer and entered the family room before stopping. The contact stated that the air bags did not deploy. A Police report was filed. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.
When entering the vehicle, I have to raise my right hand and clear the armrest area to place the handbag onto the passenger side. As the result, the hand tended to hit the edge of protruded sunroof center console, resulting in repeated laceration to the hand. Three incidents had occurred over the three months I owned the vehicle so far.
The roof of the vehicle is rusting just behind the rear sunroof. The vehicle has never been in an accident or damaged. The manufacturer has not pained a significant portion of the roof.
As i was driving on the interstate, i heard a gunshot-like explosion and the sunroof glass broke. Glass shards fell into the car. I had to slow down to 30 mph and exit the interstate. There was no obvious road debris or cars around me at the time of the incident. I drove the car to the dealership where it is for repair
