An Intoxalock ignition interlock device was installed in my 2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class on May 7, 2026. Following installation, the vehicle experienced repeated electrical/no-start problems and incidents in which it became immobilized and could not be moved, requiring towing. On one occasion the vehicle became disabled on a roadway/highway, leaving me in a dangerous position with traffic passing around me. When the vehicle is immobilized, I cannot simply move it to a safe location, and Intoxalock has not been able to restore vehicle operation remotely. I have had to wait for towing assistance, sometimes for extended periods. Independent diagnostic/service facilities have evaluated the vehicle

While driving the vehicle in normal road conditions the car suddenly stop and activated the seat belts. This incidents has happened 4 times. The vehicle has been taken to the Mercedez-Benz service and it gas been released with no findings. I am concerned with this safety issue on my leased vehicle and the risk to cause a collision or injury. The last incident occurred on 3/8/2026, while driving the car.
I am a small auto repair shop, in Houston, Texas. The driver's (left) side rear brake caliper bracket appears to be defective. The car came in with the mental to metal break wear on the driver's side, while the passenger's side brake pads still at 50% life. The break wear sensor didn't trigger the light, because there is only one sensor on the passenger side. Upon further investigation found that the inner brake pad was catching on the caliper bracket. Same was true for the new brake pad set as well. Fault appears to be in the caliper bracket. This could be a designed flaw by the manufacture., if so, it is your responsibility to get them.
